Description

I am doomed but I can't just pass by a Pacific Rim group without trying to join-

for :iconppdefensecorps:

Name: Vasilisa Georgieva
(Vàs’ka, Vàsya – both are male names, in fact; Lisà –means ‘she-fox’ in Russian, ‘li’ as in ‘link’, ‘sa’ as in ‘sack’, stress on the second syllable)
Age: 19
(04.07, Cancer)
Nationality: Russian
Height & Weight: 176 cm // 65 kg; 5’8” // 143 lbs
Blood type: A-
Department/Division: Jaeger Academy
Partner: Vyacheslav Gregoriev (cousin)

Personality:
Introvert.
+ dependable, hardworking, sensitive, cautious, determined, imaginative, patient+
-perfectionist, self-critical, reserved, insecure, sometimes overly emotional, stubborn, overcautious-

One may think of Vasilisa as of a typical cold Russian woman due to her usual grumpy facial expression. In fact, it’s nothing else than her cancer shell which acts as a defense barrier. Her natural shyness slowly evolved into reserved character with ages, and she is having problems at socializing – she often doesn’t know how to keep up a conversation and will apologize and smile weakly. She often seeks solace to cry out of her system all the things that she keeps bottled up in herself. As any cancer, she is also quite nostalgic, sentimental and romantic; sweet things and situations make her smile. Along with that, she is really soft and helpful person.
Her cousin contributed to her problems by constant bullying and teasing ever since childhood, and even though he never hurt her, she went through lots of verbal abuse. She tends to avoid conflicts and is easily hurt by words; her self-esteem is drastically low despite her perfect results. She can show some gut, but only in rare situations when either cousin’s attacks are at border of being unbearable, or when there is a life-threatening situation.
Her relations with cousin are a complete mystery to everyone. Pure hatred from first sight which is caused by jealousy; she’d always wanted to be as free as he is. In fact, she cares about Slava as much as he does about her, but… It is thoroughly veiled and cousin is the last person she wants to know about it.
To her teachers and classmates Vasya proved herself to be a perfect student; unfortunately, her excelling marks also brought her to a nerd lifestyle, when she preferred sitting with book over going out to play with other kids. She is stubborn and will keep on solving problems until she understands the subject or is capable of doing whatever she couldn’t. Sometimes her stubbornness extends to situations other than studying – for example, opposing her cousin – and again, Vasya won’t stop until she is done, even if it might hurt her in the end.

Background:
The only child in a fairly wealthy family, surprisingly she did not grow up into a spoiled kid. Vasilisa has always been a quiet, shy and sweet child until being introduced to her hyperactive cousin, Slava.
Starting from that moment – a discovery of mutual rivalry – things have changed in a way. It was an unspoken challenge between two. She was a well-behaved girl, top student of her class – but had no friends and spent most of time at home; her cousin, on contrary, did not give a damn about his academic scores, but had a vivid life and spent lots of time out, making connections. Both had weak and strong sides, but in that challenge Vyacheslav usually won – Vasya simply did not know how to come back at him as brilliantly as he let her down.
With time, pressure from parents side also became unbearable; they tried forcing her to break away from books and took her to all the parties they attended. Obviously it did no good to her, bringing Vasya to hate their lifestyle quietly.
When kaijus outbroke, Vasya was happy in a way; her father, a military veteran, was suggested a place at one of shatterdomes as an instructor. His whole family moved there, and Vasya dove into a world of giant mechanisms, scientific discoveries – and, the most important, opportunities to develop. Unable to study in university due to change of situation, Vasya made her best to find a place close by to scientists and watch their work. Probably she would even become an assistant, if not…
Her damned cousin, who applied to the jaeger initiative and suddenly Vasya’s father offered his daughter to test them for drift compatibility, as they were close relatives. She never asked for it, but it appeared to be that their neural handshake showed unpredictably fine results; it was decided that she enters the jaeger academy along Slava, moving to the other shatterdome. After burying all her dreams of becoming a bio-engineer, Vasya grit teeth and focused on studying in academy; she is not going to lose to that idiot…

Likes: reading, studying, sitting in quiet corners, high places, mountain/rock climbing, rare moments when cousin does not behave as a dork, scientific part of the kaiju business, what Slava cooks (he’s darn good at cooking)
Dislikes: family attention and pressure, when cousin teases her, being teased in general, when people see her cry, being weak and not showing good results, swearing people, girls hitting on Slava without knowing much about him, girls trying to make friends with her in order to get closer to Slava, when someone is overpraising him- Just don’t mention Slava when next to Vasya and everything will be fine.

Extra:
- speaks almost perfect British English; has a slight russian accent, but it’s hard to notice as it pops up when she is emotional. She also knows some basics of French, German and Japanese, but can barely squeeze out of herself anything in these languages. Too shy and afraid of making a mistake.
- she /loves/ dancing, and would surely drag her game console along to play some kind of dancing game (like Dance Central), but as it’s not the best idea, she had to abandon it back at home.
- getting her out to a party is also a nearly impossible task. Too shy for it. Unless you get her more or less drunk.
- don’t underestimate her physical shape, though. Although Vasilisa doesn’t strike as a combat type, and she never was good at fighting before moving to shatterdome, after entering the academy she has improved a lot in martial arts to be able to pilot jaeger in future.
- and if you hear of a joke about a badass Russian women holding a knife in her boot – beware, it’s not a joke. She will never start a fight, though, and won’t risk her life getting in between fighters as well.
- preferable fighting style – army hand-to-hand fight, the Russian universal system of training to the protection and attack receptions, united many functional elements from an arsenal of world kinds of the single combats, tested in real fighting activity. It does allow kicking a lying opponent, so make sure not pissing off Vasya.
- she also misses climbing; in early teen ages she could spend days at local climbing walls, escaping from attention of her parents. Given an opportunity, she’d escape the base to climb local rocks.

RP sample:
“And don’t forget to put on the sweater when it’s cold. And I left you a second one there. Oh, maybe I should bring you another shirt of mine? I am not sure you’ll get the uniform and change right away-“
She ignored mother’s blabbering at her best, focusing on the suitcase in front of her solely. Right, sweater. Not two, though, she wouldn’t ever wear that pinkish something her mother tucked under the books in attempt to hide it. Neither she’d carry along that horrible lace shirt- No, it looked nice, but the problem was that Vasilisa was going to a military base, not to a college for good girls.
She took it out of suitcase quietly, putting aside. Her mother kept on rambling somewhere behind, and it was almost unbearable.
“Mama, please. I am done with packing, okay? No need to bring anything else.” Vasya interrupted her at last, speaking quietly. The elder kept on saying something for a few more seconds until she realized that she was addressed to.
“Are you sure, solnishko?” Worried indeed; her voice did a nice job to show it better than botex-enhanced facial features.
“Yes, mom.” The words fell along the click on closed suitcase.

hey sorry to come bother, but because of a mistake on my part, the symbols for the divisions on the applications were wrong for Jaeger Academy and K-science. So if you could update your application with the correct template, that would be great! Thank you.
